Welcome to the 2024 Tessier Herefords 7th annual productions sale! Sitting here tonight, I can’t help but smile and realize this is our 7th production sale. It truly is amazing all the friendships we have made along the way and continue to make; we can’t thank you all enough for the support. It’s easy for me to say this is the most uniform set of bulls we have ever offered at Tessier Herefords. Every fall when we bring the bulls into the development lot and can see the results of the years of hard work, sleepless nights, and stress, that’s what makes it all worth it. Being able to hear our customer’s successes with our bulls keeps us pushing hard all year to bring top quality genetics to this sale every year. I think it’s safe to say everyone in this country has a ‘spring in their step’ with how the fall and winter has treated us. Along those lines with the cow market being at an all time high, we continue to see great demand for high quality F1 calves and bred heifers. It truly is a great time to be in the cow business. Looking at this set of bulls, we always have taken the approach not to chase trends, and that’s still true, we dug back into our semen tanks to utilize bulls that have been stand outs in our program in previous years. We feel this will give our customers the most balanced set of bulls we can offer, with genetics we have seen work time and time again. This year, like every year, we looked into our program at fertility, and kept the knife sharp on cattle that don’t perform consistently. As seed stock producers, we need to hold ourselves to a higher standard on foot and udder quality, fertility, longevity, and do ability. We were extremely happy with how our bulls checked boxes for our customers. New this year we had the opportunity to bring in some Angus bulls into the sale with the Save the Cowboy folks from Colorado and have eagerly anticipated the results. This set of bulls, along with the Cooley bulls, are held to the same standards our Hereford seedstock herd is held to, and they have performed well.
